Thandi Sadak - Placemaking Project 2.0

Thandi sadak is a road in Aligarh near Naqvi Park. Earlier it was a place where stealing and loot were very common. People used to avoid coming in this area. But after the beautification of this road people are comfortable coming in this area. Not only this but now it has become one of the main highlights of the city as well.

 

Under the ongoing Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs' (MoHUA) Placemaking Marathon 2.0, Aligarh Smart City started the Thandi Sadak project. The nodal officer of this project was the PRO of Aligarh Smart City, Omair Iftikhar and the entire project was supervised by Aligarh Smart City. HMA Agra group took this project under them and started their work on beautification of thandi sadak.

This area consist of vending zones, sitting area for people, green plants and graffitis on side walls for beautification and the main highlight of this is that there are trees which form natural arches and are covered with high quality LED lights. 

When this project was completed, Municipal Commissioner of Aligarh/ CEO of Aligarh Smart City, Gaurang Rathi expressed his views on this transformation and appreciated the project.
