Carriageway Redevelopment Project

The work for carriageway redevelopment was started on 15th March 2022 and the expected date of completion is 31st December 2022. Currently this project is 10% completed. This redevelopment project is divided into four different packages. 

* Package 1 includes GT road (Banna devi church to chharra adda fly-over). 

* Package 2 includes thandi sadak, laal diggi road(IG khan crossing to marris road crossing), dodhpur road (university circle to DVVNL quarter), tasveer mahal crossing to flyover above jail road, jail road (jail road flyover to tehsil toraha on GT road) and rasalganj road (agrasen chowk to mahavir ganj road crossing). 

* Package 3 includes ghantaghar to SBI tiraha, SBI tiraha to railway station road crossing, samad road (SBI Tiraha to centre point), ramghat road (ghandi eye hospital to menaxi bridge), marris road (marris road crossing to centre point crossing), marris road extension (centre point crossing to madipura crossing) and ramghat road extension (meenaxi bridge to dobey ka padao crossing). 

* Package 4 includes police line road (shamshad to under jail road flyover), Barchhi bahadur to district court, ghantaghar to district court, Barchhi bahadur to ghantaghar and district court crossing to shamshad market crossing. 

The main objective of this redevelopment project is to improve and develop the roads of the areas connecting the important nodes of the city and at the same time organising the vending and pedestrian mobility on the roadside as well. Main features of this project is the road improvement works, footpath along with cross section of roads, improvement of intersections, dedicated vending activity area, landscaping, road marking, traffic signals, drains for surface runoff, electrification, all ability accessible and the parking provisions.
