Aligarh took oath to save environment

On 5th June 2022, On the Occasion of World Environment Day, Aligarh Smart City in collaboration with the Department of Physical Health education, AMU, Organized a Nature walk, Park Seminar and a Plant Donation Drive in Gulistan -E-Syed Park, AMU. The interns gathered at the Physical Education Department at 7:30 am sharp. The interns along with the students of Physical Education department went on a nature walk to Gulistan e Syed Park, AMU through Vice Chancellor’s lodge. 

The interns were then briefed by Chairman, Physical Education Department, about the schedule of the event. The interns were were then encouraged to interact with the students from Physical Education Dept. in order to build a compatible environment to bring about a change in the world and protect the environment together. All the participants were then divided into Groups and given the task to observe the park and nature thoroughly for 40-50 mins. Also they were given the task of composing any poem/act/song etc. in order to inculcate belongingness toward mother nature.

Refreshments were then provided to all the participants. A seminar was then organized in order to exchange thoughts and views regarding the observations made during the excursion. Both the PE department students and the smart city interns actively participated by singing songs, performing nukkad nataks and narrating poems based on the occasion of World Environment Day. Towards the end, there was an address by the Chairman of Physical Education Dept. Mr. Tariq Murtaza followed by the address of PRO Smart City Aligarh, Mr. Omair Iftikhar.
