On 25th May 2022, Wednesday,  the 27th Yoga Festival was successfully organized by Smart City Aligarh at the Athletics Ground of Aligarh Muslim University on Wednesday. Funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, the event has been organized with the help of the Physical Health Department of Aligarh Muslim University. The authority was then allocated to the physical health department. 2 out of 4 programmes have been executed by the department. One of them being the Common Yoga Protocol and a Workshop. More than two thousand people observed the Common Yoga Protocol and more than 250 participated in the workshop. There were three important features of these programmes. First, a total of 110 madrasah students participated in the Utsav. This was also important in resolving any misconception against Yoga in the community. Second, specially challenged participants were in high attendance as well. Thirdly, geriatric population was also in focus for the Utsav. More than 2000 participants were at the receiving end of accurate yoga techniques, and asanas. The Yoga Utsav propagated the idea that yoga is not limited to specific people but is useful and healthy for the entire population. Emphasis was also placed on adopting yogic principles of life apart from asanas and pranayama, to lead a peaceful life.

Then the interns were taken on a brief tour of the Physical Education Department which was given by Dr. Sayed Khurram Nisar, Assistant prof, department of physical health education, which included the sauna bath, gym etc. After the tour, the interns had a meeting with the Chairman of the department, Prof. Tariq Murtaza acknowledged us about the whole event briefly.
