Grand rally taken out to make the city plastic free

On Tuesday, July 2, a plog run was organized by the Municipal Corporation of Aligarh. Along with the Municipal Corporation, Smart City Aligarh also played the role of an associate in organizing the programme. The plog run has been organized as part of the Race Maha Abhiyan which aims to create awareness on the collection, recycling and effective implementation of the ban imposed on single use plastics.

The Plog Run rally was started at 7:00 am from Ghantaghar in the presence of Municipal Commissioner and Smart City CEO Mr. Gaurang Rathi and Coal MLA Mr. Anil Parashar. Proceeding from Ghantaghar, the rally led by Shri Gaurang Rathi, Municipal Commissioner and Smart City CEO went through SBI Branch, Center Point, Samad Road till Pokharia Chandaniya. 

Students from various schools, NGOs and NCC also participated. Shri Gaurang Rathi, while efficiently leading the rally, himself collected and collected the plastic waste lying all over the way and gave a message to the people not to use plastic and encouraged them to use cloth bags. 

In the program organized on Pokharia Chandaniya, Shri Gaurang Rathi along with other leaders and officials also administered the oath to the students to stop using plastic. It is worth noting that the use of plastic has been completely banned by the Uttar Pradesh government, in connection with which Municipal Corporation Aligarh and Smart City are also making efforts to eliminate the use of plastic in the city.
