Aligarh did "Yoga for Humanity"

On Tuesday, 21 June 2022, a huge yoga program was organized in Aligarh on the occasion of International Yoga Day. Thousands of people participated and practiced yoga in the "Yoga for Humanity" program organized at Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar Stadium. The program was organized by the State Ministry of AYUSH, Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Office, in which cooperation was also given by Smart City Aligarh. During this program, District Magistrate Shri Inder Vikram Singh, Coal MLA Shri Anil Parashar ji along with Municipal Commissioner and Smart City CEO Gaurang Rathi were also seen doing yoga. 
The 8th International Yoga Day program started at 6 am, although the crowd of people started gathering from 5:00 AM onwards. In the beginning of the program, Aligarh District Magistrate Inder Vikram Singh, while addressing the people present, told about the benefits of yoga and also appealed to the public to take out at least 30 minutes of their daily routine for yoga. After the address of the District Magistrate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address was also broadcast during the program. 


The Prime Minister appealed to the public to spread the practice of yoga as well. After the broadcast of the Prime Minister's address, the people present in the stadium practiced yoga under the guidance of the directors of Patanjali Yogpeeth. During this, the participants of the yoga program got an opportunity to get acquainted with various yoga postures. The national anthem was sung at the end of the programme. The program ended with a thank you message from Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Dr Narendra Kumar. During the "Yoga for Humanity" program, there was a tremendous enthusiasm for Yoga among both the youth and the old people of the city and people from far flung areas came to participate in the program. At the same time, almost all the top officials of the city, smart city employees and interns were also present in the stadium for yoga practice. 


Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Dr Narendra Kumar and District Development Officer Bharat Kumar Mishra played an important role in organizing the programme.
